On Board for Anything (Vintage AT-AT, Vintage Imperial Stormtroopers in Hoth Battle Gear)

The vintage AT-AT is so huge and so wonderful a toy, it would be impossible to capture its essence all in one photo. Better to capture details in the macro (like the personnel bay door on the AT-AT’s lee side shown above) and work up to something that’s greater than the sum of its parts. I think what I’m trying to say is this is the first in a series of vintage AT-AT shots. Enjoy!

  1. Fun story: My wife bought me a vintage AT-AT for Christmas. A 5-year-old cousin or niece later came to visit with her family. She walked into our room and saw the AT-AT standing in the corner. Her reaction: “I like your dog.”

(We then spent the rest of the afternoon playing with the AT-AT and several assorted Star Wars toys we had lying around. Death Star Droid was a prince.)

  2. 100%. The vintage AT-AT strikes a very dog-like pose…. very perceptive 5-year old!

  3. Awesome! You are gifted, you really have that vintage spirit. One of the best pics so far.

    • Thanks! There are 2 reasons I keep doing this: 1) my love for the vintage and 2) great feedback like this. I’m really glad you enjoy it. More to come!

  5. I bought my first AT-AT from a toys trader in the suburbs of Lisbon(my hometown).I went into his house and i saw the toy in this enclosed porch (the vintage vehicle was there about 15 years waiting for me) and his wife said something like: “i´m so glad that someone finnaly takes the ‘ELEPHANT’ away, because it takes up too much space”
